Default Side Trip- Hillsville to Covert June 4th

Edit****- We are now meeting in Lowellville instead of Hillsville. 10 am.

Side Trip-
Hillsville to Covert
Sunday June 4th
Rapids- class 1 and 2
We'll meet at 10 am at the Beyond Corporation Boat Access Area (Hillsville) to drop boats then shuttle. Pack a lunch, we'll stop at Kuskusky Island to eat. This trip usually takes about 1 1/2 to two hours paddle time. Add a 1/2 for lunch.

Default Question

Hi-

I have a question about Class II rapids. I started kayaking last summer, and I've done Class I rapids a couple times. I'm wondering if I can handle Class II rapids? I paddle a Pungo 125, if that has any bearing. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

You should be fine. The class 2 rapids are in one spot and are not anything to worry about. There's a new paddler going with us on this trip and I will be standing in the rapids to assist if needed. We do of course ask that everyone wears a personal flotation device on all TCT paddles.

Are you planning to join us? There uis a possibility that we will be meeting in Lowellville now instead of Hillsville. One of the people interested in paddling has suggested we make the trip a little longer. It would be about 45 minutes longer if we do. I will post here by 8 pm with our decision.
