Exclamation French Creek, May 15

We will try to have a run on French Creek on May 15 . We will meet at the boat launch on Elk St. in Franklin at 10am and shuttle up to the Utica access with as few as vehicles as possible. The parking is limited up there and it's likely to be muddy and wet. I will have my trailer. If you can carry extra people or boats, we will need the help.
Now I say try to have a run because of the water levels. Two years ago we had a water level of 3.5ft. Last year it was 4.5ft. That was a fun level to run at. As of right now it is over 7ft. I would consider that will be to high for an official club run.
Keep an eye on this space for updates. I'll make a decision on whether to go later next week.
Let me know if you plan on going.

Default Idea

A substitute trip for the 15th could be the Shenango River at West Middlesex. They are holding the water in the lake, +10? and as of today the river looks great.

Default May 15th

I will be there. I have a truck, Colorado which I believe can hold two smaller 8 to 9 footers plus gear with bungees and rope and it is not going to rain?.. I like the idea of the substitute trip too, never been on the Shenango River?

French Creek or Shenango River, I'll be there. Both are nice trips.

I am off work sunday and can paddle, so it will rain buckets, but I wanted to paddle with your club for over a year and always had to work on your paddles. So where and when will it be on Sunday

Default It's a go!

The trip is on for Sunday. Water is dropping and I got a report that the creek is clear , no new big strainers. Still looks like we could get rain, so bring along the gear.
See you 10am Sunday.

Can't wait for Sunday, will see all on Sunday regardless of location, and possibly with my friend Dean. Need some "paddle time", before I loose my sanity.

Default Rain

Well, looks like a 80% chance of rain on Sunday, but we're not sissys, are we? Temps in the mid 60s. Rain gear or wetsuits recommended. With thunder storms there is a chance of lightning. You might want to go back an look at a post by JPT on Lightning Safety. It's on page 3 of the forums/posts.
