Default Tionesta Trip 3/27/11

Well hear it is another year and I'm late again on posting the trip. After talking with the army corp of engineers it looks like will have a good run except the take out will be very muddy. Will meat at kellettivlle at 11:00 and hope to be in the water by 12:00. Its a nice and easy paddle for about 10 miles. For everyone thats traveling rte.62 when you come across the bridge into tionesta make a right on to rte.36 until just past a propane place on left turn left onto german hill road and take that to the end and make a right onto rte.666 it's alot shorter this way. hope to see you there. email me at scout45@gmail.com and let me know if your going to make it. Also anyone thats planing to come up early and camp let me know a I will give you directions to my camp.
Tom

I really had no intentin of going to PA with a 'Trumbull Canoe Trails' club. I'll never attend a PA outing but if it seems the club mebers like it, so be it. I thought this was based around the Mahoning river but you got people that seem to want to leave the State. Tionesta may be a great trip but quite far for local weekend paddlers. We got the grand, beaver creek, the Tusc, pymatuming and a load of others. why take an Ohio group and send them to PA. I want to learn the local put ins and paddles in OHIO. I only want to do this because I have an Ohio fishing license and refuse to pay the outrageous fee PA wants for a non-resident licesence. Now I will say this, the TCT is not about fishing and I would bet the trips at tionesta are beautiful.....no slight to the planners who put all the time in to set this up... (too bad the weather is against us). I'll be n the backside of deer creek heading into Berlin.....sounds like a nice paddle. I do look forward tot he many trips planned by the TCT as they all sound like adventures on the river for a lake man for me. I am eagerly hoping for the Grand river float to be a success, it holds a big interest to me.
Thanks to everybody that put Tionesta together and sorry it fell apart due to weather. Al

Lightbulb local trip

If it is true about the trip being cancelled, I am willing to put togethor a trip on the Mahoning.

The water is nice and high with great current for a easy paddle. I have been pout the last two sundays on the mahoning.

1st idea, is from the Labrae baseball fields to Canoe City!
2nd is from the corner of the Mahoning and Mill creek to Struthers
or the 3rd is from Loweville to the other side of edinburg PA.
