Feb. 20th Planning Meeting
Hi Everybody !
There will not be a newsletter this month so this your official notice of the planning meeting on Febuary 20 at Frankie's Main St. Cafe in Hubbard ( the same place we have the dinner party) . Meeting time around 3-ish. Like last year, I would like to collect 3 dollars from each person in attendance to order some flat bread pizzas and other appetizers for after meeting consumption or you can just order something off the menu. Coffee will be provided. This will be a very important meeting and we will have a lot to discuss. I have a revised release form we will have to approve or revise further. This would be concerning the PFD use. Last revision was in 1997. The club will be getting some money from YSU and I would like to decide what to do with it so we don't have to wait until our next meeting in July. Some ideas were posted earlier and I have some too. Then there is the schedule to get to. Like last year, if there is a run you want to lead on a certain date, let me know and I'll pencil it in. We will try to make one Saturday run and one Sunday run in each of the months we go. It was a big help to go to the meeting last year with half the schedule already filled in. Please let me know if you are planning to attend. eartt16@aol.com 330-568-1619 by Feb.19 Ed

consider these
Some runs to think about that we have not done in the last few years.
Oil Creek at Titusville. Nice early season run. Cuyahoga River at Hiram or at Russell Park. Camp on the Clarion river at Cook Forest or Clear Creek S.P. The new Swift Park on the Mahoning may have a parking lot this year. We didn't go to Carson Landing last year. Summer late afternoon run? Leaders needed.

Grand River Race
I was wondering what other club members thought of making Lake Metro Parks Grand River Canoe&Kayak Race a club outing. It's scheduled for April 23rd this year, with a high water date of April 30th. There is more information at the Lake Metro Parks website. I think it is about 8 miles long and ends a short walk to Richs' house. You don't have to race, but can paddle for fun if you like.
Anyways, we can discuss it at the planning meeting. Hope to see you all there. Tim. |

Some more stuff for our meeting.
Zac Svette of the Trumbull Metro Parks will be there with some news on the water trail project. I know the parks received some state money for "river cleanup" recently and maybe he can tell us about that. We will be taking orders for club logo shirts at this meeting for the following: T-shirts $12 Sweatshirt $15 Hoodie $19 Hats $10 Windbreaker $21 See Patty Allen
