Mahoning River Rapid Name?
Does anyone know if the rapid immediately downriver of Route 224 on the Mahoning River in PA has a name?

I think that's one where I lost my Grundig radio. If it doesn't have a name, how about Grundig's Rapid, or Radio Rapid?

From Chuck Miller
This answer from Chuck Miller via Facebook Messenger:
"Rapid below 224 bridge, well that's its name, probably official naming rights could be acquired, it's some kind of pipe that runs across the river and rocks were piled around it to protect it, creating a fabulous little drop." But I kind of like Radio Rapid as Ed suggested....has a nice alliterative ring to it. Last edited by JPTolson; 02-09-2018 at 05:01 PM. |

If anyone we know has lost a chainsaw there it could be "Chainsaw Rapids".
Would there be "Radio Waves" at the Radio Rapids? Would that area now be "Radio-Active? (It might be given the unfortunate history of the Mahoning) Last edited by KenM; 02-10-2018 at 11:45 AM. |
