Erin I did Ben's creek [easy ll] and Quemahoning [easy lll] on Saturday, Both excellent runs. On Sunday a friend and I boat scouted the first two sections of Shade [lll and ll respectively]. All are worthy of additional trips.

I haven't been at this as long as some of you guys so I don't have as many trips to choose from. But, Neshannock a couple weeks ago was definitely one of the top trips I have taken, and I made it thru the gorge without swimming!

However, the trip Mike & I took this Sunday was my favorite so far. Conneaut Creek and Ashtabula River were both amazing. They both were beautiful and we saw quite a few Bald Eagles, Blue Herons and waterfalls along both rivers. But not only did both rivers have the scenic factor, they had some action too. Neither had big huge rapids, but enough waves and small drops to keep it fun and splash you in the face. Being able to start and end at covered bridges on Conneaut Creek was fun as well. Either river would have made for a fun time, but getting to do them both in the same day made it even better. Maybe not the most exciting trip rapid-wise, but definitely the best all around trip I have done.

I'm not real good at picking out my favorite of anything, but among the top...

Back Fork of the Elk in WV, or upper East Fork Greenbriar. Greenbriar was one of the tightest, closest creeks I've ever been on.

First time I paddled the Lehigh River in eastern PA. Ran it solo and swam twice.

Manistique River in the Upper Peninsula - beautiful crystal clear flatwater in the wilderness.

Great early morning run on the Mile at Slippery Rock, with fog so dense that I couldn't see 25 feet in front of me. Amazing.

But they're ALL good.
